Meet Jen Tibbits - Email marketing strategist for small businesses in Surrey

Marketing is about connection.

I’ve always loved marketing.

Not the “convince people to buy something they don’t need” kind. The opposite.

For me, marketing is about connection. Helping people discover businesses they’ll love, then giving them the information they need to decide if it’s the right fit.

I’ve been fascinated by it for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, I’d remember adverts word for word and wonder why certain messages stuck. I still love looking at old adverts and posters because they’re little snapshots of society at that moment in time.

That curiosity turned into a 16+ year career in marketing and communications.

Before starting my own business, I worked in marketing roles running campaigns, managing communications channels and creating content across different platforms. It was through launching an e-bulletin that I discovered just how powerful email could be.

I’m a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualified marketer, with additional training in copywriting, digital marketing and coaching. I even had a campaign featured in the national press and on BBC Breakfast (and I met the Hairy Bikers!).

Then life changed.

Hey there! I’m Jen

Email marketing strategist, serial coffee drinker, and the person your emails have been waiting for.

I went on to start my first small business with my sister, creating handmade party décor. I loved the creativity and freedom of running my own business, but it also taught me something important.

Running a business feels very different when you’re responsible for everything.

I loved having my sister as a business partner. Someone to bounce ideas around with, share the journey and celebrate the wins. But when I later launched my own business, I experienced the other side of small business life too. Making decisions alone, figuring things out as I went and not having a team of specialists around me to call on.

And I saw so many small business owners experiencing the same thing.

They were brilliant at what they did. Their customers loved them. But marketing was often the thing that got pushed down the list.

I started helping small businesses make sense of their marketing, but over time one thing became really clear.

I kept coming back to email.

Because while social media can be brilliant, your email list is something you actually own. It’s made up of people who have chosen to hear from you.

While pregnant with my first child, my department was cut and I took voluntary redundancy.

When email is done properly, it can become one of the hardest-working parts of your business. Helping you build relationships, stay connected and turn subscribers into customers.

That’s why I decided to specialise in email marketing.

Now I help small businesses set up, improve and manage email marketing that actually works. Whether you’re starting from scratch, know something isn’t working, or want someone to take email off your plate, there’s a way we can work together.

I live in Surrey, and when I’m not talking about email, you’ll usually find me drinking coffee, plunging into a lake, walking the dog, or juggling life as a mum to two little ones and small business owner.

Because I know marketing needs to work with your life, not take it over.

If you’re looking for email marketing support that combines strategy, experience and a practical approach, I’d love to chat.
